1) What kind of weather can I expect in Scotland in April?
As a country blessed with the warm waters of the Gulf Stream insultating its west coast, Scotland tends to get a very early Spring. Thus, April often affords long, sunny days and mild temperatures. Average daytime temperatures in late-April range from high-40’s to the low-60’s, but it can get cooler in the late evenings and night. Also, with what many call a “maritime” climate, it is not unusual to encounter erratic weather that is cold, warm, rainy, windy, calm, and sunny all in one day. Thus, participants should anticipate a variety of weather conditions during the tour and pack accordingly.
2) Do you offer payment plans so that I can pay for my tour over time?
Yes! We will be happy to set up a payment plan that meets your needs. After you register and pay an initial, $500 deposit, we can divide the remaining balance of your tour into any number of regular installment payments that you will make up until the time of your departure.
3) Can I arrive before or remain after the tour?
Yes! If you would like to arrive at the start location in advance or remain at the end location after the tour has concluded, Scholarly Sojourns can help you arrange your hotel accommodation and is often able to secure attractive rates. Please indicate these preferences to us after you have registered for the tour.
4) How much walking will be required on this tour?
All participants should be comfortable walking up to half a mile at a time and capable of climbing up to three flights of stairs at a time.
5) I am a single traveler. Can you help me find a roommate?
Scholarly Sojourns will do all we can to match single travelers with a suitable roommate if they desire. But we cannot guarantee that roommates will be available. Therefore all single travelers should register as such and be prepared to pay the single traveler rate should a roommate not be identified.
