Solo Travelers Are Never Alone on a Scholarly Sojourn
Embarking on a voyage of solo travel kindles romantic longings and a sense of adventure for some. Yet it might arouse a latent trepidation that inhibits others from ever taking the first step on “a journey of a thousand miles . . . .” While strapping on a backpack to set off for parts unknown may be one way to have an adventure, an unique aspect which sets Scholarly Sojourns apart is that every tour is purposefully designed to foster an amiable and collegial atmosphere that welcomes each traveler into a community of likeminded individuals who share a common interest.
Amongst our tour participants, about one-quarter join us as solo travelers who not only get the gratification of exploring a subject that fascinates them, but who also have the opportunity to delight in the manifold opportunities to share their enthusiasm in convivial settings with fellow tour members. Among the indispensable ingredients of each Scholarly Sojourns tour are the informal, family-like gatherings with tour leaders during our signature picnics, dinner seminars, and opening and closing receptions. It is in these settings that participants get to break bread and raise a glass to celebrate the highlights and discoveries of each day. While many sojourners may depart on their own when our tours conclude, inevitably, they will have collected enduring memories and forged new friendships that will last far beyond their next destination.
So, what are you waiting for? Whether traveling solo or with a companion, taking that proverbial first step toward what could be the most incredible journey of your lifetime is right under your feet.
